Frequently asked questions
Sushi River
How is the Sushi River Organized?
We organize the table into 5 beautiful rows so everything looks amazing and guests can easily see their options. During booking, you get to choose which sushi rolls you’d love to feature. We will use your selected rolls and arrange them to create the most visually appealing display possible. On the day of your event, our chef may make small adjustments on-site to make sure it looks its absolute best.
Describe the Sushi River
The Sushi River is our signature experience that brings everyone together for an unforgettable event. We create a long, elegant white table featuring a custom wavy river design running down the center. Fresh sushi rolls are arranged neatly along the river. Guests simply walk up, clearly see all options, and self-serve whatever looks good. It’s interactive, visually stunning, and becomes the beautiful centerpiece of your party—no conveyor belt, no assigned seats, just pure joy and connection.
What is the Sushi River?
The Sushi River is a premium, self-serve catering setup designed to wow your guests. We create a long, elegant white table featuring a beautiful custom wavy river design on top. There are 5 distinct rows running the full length of the table where we beautifully arrange fresh sushi rolls. Guests simply walk up and self-serve whichever rolls they like — it’s interactive, visually stunning, and much more exciting than traditional plated sushi. It’s not a conveyor belt or a flowing river — it’s a gorgeous, stationary display that turns your sushi into the centerpiece of the party. Perfect for family gatherings, friend get-togethers, and special celebrations!
How long does the Sushi River last?
Most river experiences run 2–3 hours, with our chef on-site to keep the table beautifully replenished so guests always have fresh sushi.
Classes
What is included in the Interactive Sushi Class?
A professional chef, all ingredients and tools, step-by-step instruction, and enough sushi for everyone to eat and enjoy. Guests usually take home their favorite rolls they made.
Can kids participate in the sushi class?
Yes! Our sushi classes are family-friendly and kids are welcome. Ages 5+ enjoy rolling their own sushi the most, while younger ones can participate with adult help. Kids 8 and under join for free. It’s a joyful way for the whole family to make memories together.
Booking
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 2–3 weeks in advance, especially for weekends and peak seasons. Last-minute bookings are sometimes possible depending on chef availability.
What is the minimum number of guests?
Sushi River: Flexible (great for 10–100+ guests). Interactive Sushi Class: Minimum 8 guests.
How does pricing work?
Pricing is based on the number of guests, experience type, and any add-ons (like mochi dessert or alternate entrées). You’ll see a live price calculator during the booking process. A deposit is required to secure your date and chef.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel or reschedule up to 7 days before your event for a full refund of the deposit. Within 7 days, the deposit is non-refundable but can often be rescheduled.
Can I add alcohol or other catering?
Of course! Many hosts combine our sushi experience with their own drinks, desserts, or additional food. We focus on the sushi and let you handle the rest.
Menu
Can I customize the menu?
Absolutely! For the Sushi River, you get to choose which rolls you’d love to feature. We’ll arrange them beautifully across the 5 rows. We also accommodate dietary preferences and allergies whenever possible.
Do you offer gluten-free or vegetarian options?
Yes. Many of our rolls can be made gluten-free, and we have vegetarian options available. Please note all allergies and preferences in the booking form so our chefs can prepare safely.
Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes — please list all allergies and preferences (gluten, soy, nuts, seafood, etc.) during booking. We take food safety very seriously.
General
What’s the difference between Sushi River and Interactive Sushi Class?
Sushi River is a beautiful, self-serve experience where fresh sushi rolls are artfully arranged in 5 rows on an elegant wavy table. Guests walk up and pick what they want — perfect for mingling and larger groups. Interactive Sushi Class is a fun, hands-on experience where our chef teaches you and your guests how to make sushi together. Everyone participates, learns new skills, and takes home their creations. Ideal for smaller groups (minimum 8 people) who want an engaging activity.
Do you travel?
Yes! We currently serve the greater Salt Lake City area and are rapidly expanding to other cities across the country. During booking, you’ll see which chefs are available in your area.
Will there be a chef on-site the whole time?
Yes. For both experiences, a trained sushi chef will be present to ensure everything runs smoothly and safely.
What do we need to provide?
Just a flat surface (table or counter) for the river setup and access to a kitchen sink. We bring everything else — plates, chopsticks, soy sauce, and all ingredients.
